Getting Here and Around

Toowoomba is the hub of the Darling Downs and is a fresh and exhilarating destination, perched on the Great Dividing Range in South East Queensland, just an hour and a half west of Brisbane and two hours from the Gold Coast. Two major highways bring visitors to Toowoomba – the Warrego Highway from the east and west as well as the New England Highway from the north and south.

Travel west from Brisbane, along the Warrego Highway, through the fertile Lockyer Valley, up and over the Great Dividing Range into Toowoomba and the Darling Downs.

Travel east from Roma, along the Warrego Highway, through the townships of Miles, Chinchilla and Dalby.

Travel south from Kingaroy, along Australia’s Country Way (the New England Highway) and pass through the towns and hamlets of Cooyar, Crows Nest and Highfields, or travel north from Warwick and Stanthorpe, the wine capital of Queensland.

Whichever way you travel to Toowoomba and the Darling Downs, make sure you plan to stop or an overnight stay, because once you see our region, you may never want to leave ...
